Watkins Glen Farm SanctuaryFarm Sanctuary - Do you want to walk and talk with the animals?  This is within reach at Farm Sanctuary, a 175-acre shelter located outside of the Village of Watkins Glen. It's a place the whole family will love. You can see hundreds of rescued farm animals, and visit the unique visitor center -The "People Barn," view educational displays, literature and videos. There is also a "Kids' Korner" and gift shop.

- There are several ways to enjoy the food of the Finger Lakes. You can visit a local orchard, winery, creamery or farm for yourself, shop local farm markets, or test out the local restaurants. Executive chefs form their creations using the local bounty and pair it with the region’s variety of wines. These foods come straight from our farms to your table. It’s a fabulous marriage of fresh food and wine- a combination that you can find all here, and only here.

- “Agricultural Tourism” encompasses working farms and agricultural enterprises offering the visitor direct experience and education of the farm as an economic, social and cultural endeavor. Visitors from urban and suburban areas are sure to gain a greater understanding of local agriculture and its integration into life in Schuyler County. From apples to cheese to crafts be sure to come and check out the growing agricultural attraction industry.  

Bird Watching - There are several locations where you can experience the flora and fauna of Schuyler County.  If you are in town and not looking to venture too far out of the county, stop by the Catharine Valley Marsh. The marsh has been designated by the State as a bird conservation area.  Here, you can see more than 50 different bird species!  While you are at the marsh, you are not far from the Catharine Valley Trail. On the trail, you could see the furry creatures that inhabit the land surrounding the trail.
